Alumni Family Skate with Santa - December 7, 2008
Happy Holidays!
Jolly St. Nick and Mrs. Claus brought North Pole-like weather with them as more than 500 U of C alumni and their families braved Calgary's first snowstorm of the winter for the third annual Alumni Skate with Santa on December 7.
Charlie Unplugged - An Evening with Wellington West Holding’s Founder and CEO
The U of C Alumni Association's affinity partner that provides alumni with financial planning services, Clearsight/Wellington West, held a series of six seminars across Canada through October and November.

Toronto U of C Alumni joined the University of Calgary for an evening of fabulous food paired with fine Ontario wines and hosted by local wine personalities Ange and Pax.
EWB World Dinner - November 17, 2008
The University of Calgary Chapter of Engineers Without Borders hosted a fundraising dinner and silent auction. Engineers Without Borders partners with local third world communities to develop solutions to existing food and water quality issues.
Hockey Night on Campus - November 14, 2008
Fans clad in red came out to support the U of C Dinos as they took on the U of L Pronghorns on Friday, November 14 at Father David Bauer Arena. Alumni and their families enjoyed a family-friendly tailgate party with hot chocolate, cookies, before heading inside for an exciting game.
Convocation - November 10, 2008

The Alumni Association along with Mr. Ken McKinnon, BComm’80, President, University of Calgary Alumni Association with special guest from the Alberta Government, the Honourable Doug Horner, Minister of Advanced Education and Technology played host to U of C alumni in Hong Kong.
AlumNight O3: Raw Bar - October 30, 2008
Alumni from all over Calgary met at the ultra chic Raw Bar to celebrate the Halloween season. Prizes were awarded for best costume and the creativity was endless.
Alumnae honoured as trailblazers - October 22, 2008
The Women's Resource Centre honoured two U of C alumnae Oct. 22 for their "wisdom, resilience and compassion" in overcoming barriers and contributing to community. Psychologist Kerrie Moore, BSW'03, MSW'04, received the Distinguished Alumna Award 2008, and MSc student Anna Corynne Zadunayski, LLB'02, received the Distinguished Student Award 2008. Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the event attracted more than 200 people.

Kick Off '08 - September 5, 12 & 13

Master of Nursing grads reunite after 25 years
It was a small but mighty reunion at the Faculty of Nursing Alumni Committee’s annual lunch earlier this year. Five of the seven members of the first Master of Nursing class—or the “seven dwarfs,” as they called themselves—reunited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their graduation.

Campus Fair 2008 - June 14 - 2008

June Convocation 2008
About 5,000 graduates earned their degrees at nine Convocation ceremonies June 9 to 13, growing the U of C alumni family to 130,000.
Arch Awards 2008 - June 5, 2008
More than 200 guests filled the Grand Theatre in downtown Calgary on June 5 to celebrate the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award winner Susan Smith, BN’75, PhD’95, and the 2008 Graduate of the Last Decade Robyn Hauck, BCS’05.
U of C comes to Vancouver - May 14, 2008
On Wednesday, May 14 more than 70 U of C alumni and friends came together for a special reception hosted by President Harvey Weingarten at the Vancouver Rowing Club in picturesque Stanley Park.

U of C alumni, prospective students and members of Alberta's Legislative Assembly gathered in Edmonton May 13 to see former English captain and paparazzi magnet David Beckham and his LA Galaxy take on the Vancouver Whitecaps in a friendly soccer match at Commonwealth Stadium.
