What are my Responsibilities?
General Preparedness
All employees and students are encouraged to prepare themselves and their families to avoid significant impacts due to emergency situations. Information on family preparedness is available on the Alberta Municipal Affairs - Emergency Management Alberta website: Emergency Preparedness Fact Sheets
Information on how to prepare for Pandemic Influenza can be obtained at How Do I Prepare?
Evacuations
If a University fire alarm is sounded, all occupants of a building are expected to evacuate the building immediately. This is both for the safety of the occupants as well as the first responders as it ensures that first reponders will not have to re-enter the building to search for individuals who have not evacuated. All employees and students are expected to know their Assembly Points and alternate Assembly Points for evacuating from the buildings in which they work, go to class or study.
Shelter-In-Place
Employees and students are also expected to understand where they should shelter during a Shelter-In-Place situation. Please refer to the Shelter-In-Place information.
