Caldecott Medal and Honor Books
American Library Association, Association for Library Service to Children
Established 1938. A medal presented annually to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children published in the United States in the preceding year. The recipient must be a citizen or resident of the United States. There is no limit on the number of Honor Books, and none need be named.
